Get Involved
The best way to feel like part of the family is to get involved like part of the family.
There are lots of exciting opportunities to serve and meet new people within Speak the light Bible Church.
We have loads of different areas of church life where people are able to connect in and find their place within the church community.
One of our core values as a church is to see everybody active and there is no better way to do this than by getting involved with the ministries within the church.
How Do I Meet People?
Our church is not a place for spectators. It is a place for team members. Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our vibrant church community. Here is how you can learn, serve, and grow at this church.

Leadership Ministry
Speak the Light Bible Church (The Calvary Temple) interest and desire is that lives are transformed for God’s glory. The Church has different ministry wings to help us to minister effectively to our members and our community.
Playing your part in ministry
At Speak the Light bible Church (The Calvary Temple) we encourage every member to be actively involved in the ministry using their gifts, talents and abilities in service to the Lord.
“For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ” Ephesians (4:12 KJV).
Where Can I Serve
Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of this church is our mission to work in the vineyard of God and service to humanity in a Godly manner. It begins in our own community, and spreads to the world out there.
Church members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as cleaning the church auditorium, to preparing the church bulletins.

Children Ministry
Each Sunday morning, children get to participate in their own classes.
The Children’s Ministry Department aims to encourage each child to build a relationship with Jesus.
Our vision is to:
• Teach our children what worship is and how to feel free to worship
• Encourage our children to listen and learn about God
• Build our children confidence to stand and speak confidently
• Empower our children to enquire about the word of God
Bible lessons are taught in such a way that every child gets to participate and learn. Each of the class teachers is carefully screened and thoroughly trained in children’s instruction. The children ministry of our church is recognized for their meaningful interaction with kids. We also provide light refreshments for the kids after the church service.
Children’s Ministries will work in a vibrant way to provide a rich and varied experience for the children. Proverbs 22:6 ‘Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.’
Children Ministry programmes are held each Sunday at 11.00am until our main worship service is over.

Youth Ministry
Life can get complicated once you cross that nebulous threshold into adulthood. There are complicated decisions. Bigger stakes. Serious relationships. And a whole lot more decisions. The young adult group of our church provides a welcoming atmosphere for college and early-career aged young people.
The purpose of the youth ministry is to create a space where teenagers, students and young adults can make friendships, develop life skills and encounter Jesus in a relative way.

Men’s Ministry

Men’s Ministry serves to empower all men to understand their roles as leaders in the home, church, workplace and communities, knowing that God must take first place in their lives. God designed men to be leaders both in our homes and in our communities!
To better equip the “Men of valour” and help them stand in their rightful place in God’s great plan, we usually have fellowships and Bible studies once per month, and our meetings is geared towards ministering to the whole man, exploring purpose, potential and leadership. We also address health and well-being issues.
Luke 10:2 ‘Therefore said He unto them, the harvest is great but the labourers are few…’ Our communities, homes and workplaces are the harvest; our men are being equipped and empowered to work in the harvest for the benefit of the Kingdom.
The men of valour in this church are grouped into two. We have the Joshua and Caleb groups. Each of these groups meet one Saturday every month for prayers and Bible studies.
The Men’s ministry events are very unique and it is aimed for men to become the people that God has called them to be. Our annual men’s day are fully package with lots of events, ranging from praises and worship songs, acapella, drama presentation, bible quiz and quotations, debate and host of other things. Our slogan is Men! Action! Action!! Now!!
Accountability among men is an act of integrity. Accountability is designed to protect, encourage, empower, motivate and develop men of all ages.

Women’s Ministry
Women’s ministry, also known as “Virtues Women” give the ladies in our church family special times of interaction. Our women’s ministry is very vibrant, hardworking and dedicated to the word of God, and active in times of Bible study, prayer (and, of course, food and refreshments).
The purpose of the women’s ministry is to act as a support system for all women in the church and the surrounding community to create a warm welcoming environment where they feel free to come and fellowship with other women.
In the women’s ministry we are here to help all women to become better wives, mothers, sisters and daughters. It is important that women know their worth and that they are empowered to do the work that God has sent them to do. There is a strength that comes when women of destiny and purpose come together to build relationships with each other with the goal of encouraging, supporting, mentoring and building each other up in the Lord.
At Speak the light Bible church we endeavor:
• To encourage all women who we connect with, to believe that God has a plan and purpose for their lives.
• To embrace women from all walks of life into a deeper relationship with Christ through the use of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, Prayer, Praise and study of the scriptures.
• To meet each woman at the exact point of her need, and equip her to live in the abundance, victory, forgiveness and freedom that is rightfully hers.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope”. Jeremiah 29:11.
The “Virtues Women” in this church are grouped into two prayer meetings. We have the Hannah and Deborah groups. Each of these groups meet periodically for prayers and Bible studies. Sometimes both groups comes together for corporate Bible study and prayers. These groups provide a refreshing discipleship opportunity for the women in the church.

Evangelism Ministry
Evangelism is ultimately the work of the Holy Spirit. Evangelism involves several key actions: telling the good news, announcing the kingdom (reign) of God, and bearing witness to other people. Soul winning is very important in the kingdom of God.
At speak the light Bible Church, it one of the core values of the church to evangelize as the Bible instructed us in the following chapters:
Matthew 9:35–10:23 (call of the disciples)
Luke 4:16-21 (Jesus’ sermon in the synagogue)
Luke 10:1-20 (mission of the seventy)
Luke 10:25-37 (parable of the Good Samaritan)
Luke 15 (parables of the lost sheep, coin, and son)
John 1:35-51 (call of Jesus’ first disciples)

Ushering Ministry
The usher team at our church fills an important role. They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, guiding traffic, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, unlocking doors, locking doors, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free.
The usher team is a servant-hearted group of men and women whose ministry is an integral part to the church life.

Music & Drama
God-honuoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music and drama ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. Others are involved in the choir. Still others get involved in drama. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of our church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.

Media & Technology
Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of this church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes.
We also maintain an active Facebook feed for additional church communication.

Marriage Counselling
Marriages can be difficult to maintain. Misunderstanding, confusion, resentment, and anger can flare up in any marriage. Several couples at our church serve other families as marriage counsellors. Their role in listening, understanding, helping, and encouraging struggling couples has, by God’s grace, saved marriages, and repaired relationships. Couples have found fresh hope and new joy in a warm and fulfilling relationship with their spouse.

Prayer Warriors
Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Our Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Sunday, at 10:00am before the Sunday school and the church service begins, a team of volunteers is praying for the ministry of the Word. Throughout the week, volunteers from our Prayer Warriors team pray for our pastor, a list of church members, any special requests, and missionary prayer needs. Each Wednesday at 6:00pm, the church comes together for a special time of prayer and Bible study.

Caring Ministry
“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you”(John 15:12).
Caring is part of loving. To truly love is to care. Despite indicating they’re “fine,” many people within our churches are not okay! From unexpected situations to recurring struggles, encouragement and support often means more than we know.
We advocate a discipline model of care. Our training is based on God’s Word, grounded in Scripture, and applicable regards of people’s circumstances and challenges.
At Speak the light Bible church, we go extra mile to care for our members who are in difficulties, either by speaking to them one to one, or through family visits, finding out their individual needs and supporting them. The new members are usually taken care of through counselling, praying with them and establishing contacts
